On 16th - 20th July 2023, the 50th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Mycoplasma and 24th Biennial Congress of the International Organization for Mycoplasmology (IOM) were held at the Osaka City Central Public Hall.
About 300 researchers from about 30 countries around the world participated in the discussion on mycoplasmology.
Kazuhiro Matsuda, Director of the Research Center for Mycoplasma Infectious Diseases participated in both conferences and made a presentation focusing on disease. His presentation, which raises the issue of the importance of mycoplasma infections, was highly evaluated at both academic conferences, and he was able to have exchanges of opinions and meaningful interaction with researchers both in Japan and overseas.
Starting with the presentations at both academic societies, we plan to focus on educational activities on the importance of mycoplasma infections to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare and the Cabinet Office in collaboration with the Japanese Society of Mycoplasma.
